Emergency Vet Services Sydney

An overview of VECA's emergency vet services and specialist care

VECA runs the only 24/7 emergency vet services in the Macarthur region (Campbelltown) and the Norwest area of Sydney, with a team of vets, veterinary nurses and support staff on site around the clock. Our Campbelltown animal hospital is a full-service vet hospital offering emergency veterinary services, general practice, surgery, medicine, imaging, cardiology, ophthalmology and the VECA blood bank. Our Norwest vet hospital offers emergency vet services, surgery and imaging only.

Emergency cases are walk-in 24/7 at both VECA hospitals, with no appointment required. General practice, cardiology, ophthalmology and outpatient CT need a booked appointment.

Emergency care: walk-in treatment, 24/7

Pet emergencies don't keep business hours, and neither do we. Our emergency vet services are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at both Campbelltown and Norwest, including after hours and public holidays. Come straight in if your pet is showing collapse, breathing difficulty, suspected poisoning, trauma, a snake bite, seizures, severe pain or vomiting.

At VECA, we operate much like a human emergency hospital, so the sickest pets are seen first rather than in order of arrival. A triage nurse will assess your pet, then a veterinarian will discuss emergency care and costs with pet owners before treatment begins. Critical care cases are admitted for overnight hospitalisation, monitored by our compassionate team of vets and veterinary nurses.
