Pets in Need of Blood

Blood transfusions are a critical part of treatment for many pets. Wether it's severe blood loss (haemorrhage) from surgery or trauma, immune disorders like IMHA (Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia) that attack the bodys own red blood cells, or anaemia caused by parasite infections. Toxins, such as anticoagulat rodenticide poisoning or snake envenomations, pets may need blood products. In these urgent situations, having a reliable blood supply can be the key to saving a beloved pet's life. This is why we have established our community blood donor program to help provide a safe, consistent supply of blood for pets in need no matter the hour.
